Video Game Review  



I. Match these games with their descriptions, and then find the meaning of the underlined words


A.- Each level has a game board filled with differently colored candies, and might contain obstacles. The basic move of this game is horizontally or vertically swapping the positions of two adjacent candies, to create sets of three (or more) candies of the same color.



B.- In this game, the main character is an Italian-American plumber who, along with his older brother, has to defeat creatures that have been coming from the sewers below New York. The objective of the game is to defeat all of the enemies in each phase. The mechanics of the game consists mainly in running and jumping. 



C.-The player controls the main character through a maze, eating pellets and trying to escape from four ghost-enemies. When all pellets are eaten, you are taken to the next stage.



D.-In this game, the player takes control of a martial artist, who competes in a worldwide martial arts tournament, spanning five countries and ten opponents. A second player can join in at any time and take control of its rival. The players can perform three types of punch and kick attacks, each varying in speed and strength, and three special attacks which are performed by executing special button combinations with the controls.



E.-In the game, players use a slingshot to launch birds at pigs stationed on or within various structures, with the intent of destroying all the pigs on the playing field.

Video games are all the rage these days. The gaming industry is booming, and is estimated to be worth 86 billion dollars by 2016![1]. This stimulates the growth of video game review sites, and video game reviewing is a very profitable business. This article will teach you how to cash in on the game boom and write your own video game review.

    Play the game. When doing so, take notes of what you liked and what you didn't. Try to go over every feature of the game for the highest quality review.

    Write a short introduction about 2-3 sentences that sums up the game but don't spoil it too much and catches the reader's attention!

    Write the notes you took, and add to them. After the introduction, the review itself begins. Write, add and connect the notes you took.

    Write things you really liked or really hated. If you hated or liked something very specific in the game such as a map, a gameplay feature, a really annoying glitch etc., add it as well.

    Include every concept of the game including the graphics, music, cinematics, story, content, controls, gameplay, and your own opinion.

    Write about examples and references of the game to back up your argument and give the reader an idea of what you are talking about without giving out too much spoilers.

    Write an ending paragraph. Sum it all up with an ending paragraph. Write a sentence about the game, list the pros and cons, and give a score.
